The exhibition “Sinop in Ottoman Archive Documents”, which includes 31 works consisting of materials such as edicts, charters, plans, sketches and pictures, was opened in Sinop.
Sinop University Rector Prof. made the greeting speech at the opening program held at Sabahattin Ali Cultural Center. Dr. Şakir Taşdemir said, “Archive documents, which constitute the content of the orders and instructions written by the state officials, are one of the important elements that contain the memory of the state and society, shed light on the present, and give us information about the important developments in our history. Located in the inventory of the State Archives Directorate of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey, our Sinop province “An attempt was made to identify and acquire materials such as edicts, charters, plans, sketches and paintings from the Ottoman period, and 31 archival materials, each more valuable than the other, were brought together to prepare this exhibition, which is presented to you, the valuable people of Sinop and our guests,” he said.
The exhibition titled “Sinop in Ottoman Archive Documents” was visited together by the Protocol members after the ribbon cutting. Sinop Chief Public Prosecutor Mesut Pektaş, institution heads, academic and administrative staff, students and guests attended the opening program.
