The taxi with plate number 76 T 0032, driven by Mehmet S., going from Kars to Kağızman, collided with the truck with plate number 25 ABG 902, driven by Veysel T, coming from the opposite direction, on the road that became slippery due to heavy snowfall on the Rusty Pass at an altitude of 2020.
In the accident, taxi driver Mehmet S. and Medet (58), Mecit and Makude K. in the same vehicle were injured. Upon notice, 112 Emergency Health, gendarmerie and highways teams were dispatched to the region.
Medet K, one of the injured who was taken to Kağızman State Hospital by the medical teams, could not be saved despite all the interventions made there.
Meanwhile, the Kars-Kağızman highway was closed to traffic for about an hour due to accidents and snowfall.
Highways 18th Regional Directorate teams carried out salting work at the site of the accident, and gendarmerie teams took security measures.
