The dead body of one of the 12 missing crew members of the Turkish-flagged dry cargo ship Kafkametler, which sank in a severe storm off the coast of Ereğli district of Zonguldak, was found among the fishing boats, while the search for the other 11 people continues.
AFAD teams are patrolling the coastline in case the bodies of the missing crew members, who are searched by coast guard boats in the port and from the air by planes, helicopters and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), wash up on the shore.
The notice that alarmed the teams
Coming in the evening, “I saw an arm” AFAD and police teams in the district were alerted upon the notice.
Police teams took action upon the notice that an arm was seen in the port and searched for bodies in the port and on the beach.
The teams carried out a detailed search in the notification area, where the 112 ambulance was dispatched, and after no body was found, they carried out a comprehensive scan of the entire beach.
The report turned out to be false
The teams searched around and found out that the report was unfounded.
The teams, who could not get any results in the search that lasted about 1 hour, returned to normal after it was determined that the report was unfounded.
