A new brand is joining the caravan of cars coming from China to the Turkish automotive market.

Operating under the Chinese manufacturer Hozon Auto, Neta comes to Turkey first in Europe.

The first model of the Chinese brand, which will be sold under the distributorship of GRS Automobility, a mobility company under the roof of Gürses Group, in Turkey will be Neta U, which is in the 100 percent electric C-SUV segment.

In the captain’s chair of GRS Automobility is a name well-known in the automotive industry.

Vedat Uygun, who served as Volkswagen Commercial Vehicle General Manager between 2004-2007 and Volkswagen Passenger Vehicle Brand General Manager between 2007-2017, has opened a new page in his career after 21 years of professional working life at Doğuş Otomotiv.

We met with GRS Automobility General Manager Vedat Uygun and Gürses Group Board Members Uğur and Mehmet Gürses, with whom we met in the previous days, and listened to the company’s future goals.

‘THE TOP 3 IN TARGET MOBILITY’

Indicating that they will bring the Dutch micromobility brand Carver to Turkey together with Neta, Uygun said, “We aim to reconsider the concept of mobility with end-to-end innovative solutions, develop our country’s automotive market and make it more dynamic, thus providing added value and transforming it.”

Noting that unlike many new brands entering the market, they focus on the motivation of representing the brands that users love, rather than sales numbers, Uygun said, “Creating a sense of belonging and making consumers happy and being with them in every field is much more valuable to us than market share and sales numbers. In 2030, Turkey in Turkey “Being in the top 3 among mobility companies forms the general framework of our vision,” he said.

According to the information provided, Neta’s first model U, which sells 150 thousand electric vehicles annually, will meet Turkish consumers in December. The 150 kW car will be in the 10 percent Special Consumption Tax bracket.

The car, powered by CATL signed batteries, offers 420 kilometers of urban driving range (WLTP) and has the ability to fast charge from 30 percent to 80 percent in 30 minutes.

NEW MODELS WILL COME IN 2024

According to the information provided by Uygun, Neta GT, which will follow Neta U, can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds. This model, which is an electric coupe, will be available for sale in our country in the first quarter of 2024. Neta AYA, which is expected to go on sale in the same period, is in the B segment SUV class.

The electric sedan model of the Chinese brand, Neta S, will be included in the product range in 2025. The acceleration of this model from 0 to 100 km/h is announced as 3.9 seconds. All models of the Chinese brand come standard with a heat pump that allows electric cars to maintain their range in winter conditions.

Uygun also stated that the first two showrooms will be in Istanbul and said that they want to reach 12-13 showrooms in 2024. Explaining that they have made an agreement with Bosch Car Service for after-sales services, Uygun said that they want to sell nearly 400 cars per month next year.

We should also note that Neta will start operations in Europe in 2024, after Turkey.

BOTH MOTORCYCLES AND AUTOMOBILES

Carver, another brand that GRS Automobility will start selling in Turkey as of next month, is a model developed specifically for urban travel.

The vehicle, which will be sold with a 1+1 seating arrangement, can be tilted up to 40 degrees during bends, just like on motorcycles, thanks to the system called Dynamic Vehicle Control.

Giving information about Carver, GRS Automobility General Manager Vedat Uygun said, “It is a brand that sells with the motto ‘Do we need 2-ton vehicles to go from one place to another?’ It produces vehicles with both passenger car and motorcycle features. The width of the vehicle is 98 cm and it has air conditioning.” “We are continuing to work on type approval so that it can be used with a car license. We will bring two models, Carver S+ and Carver R+. There will also be a cargo model,” he said.

According to the information we have obtained, the S + model accelerates up to 80 km/h and has a range of 100 km. This version can also be used on the highway. Carver R+, which has a top speed of 45 km/h and a range of 130 km, cannot be used on highways and bridges.

Carver’s price is not yet known. However, the high-income group is on the radar as the target audience of the vehicle.
