The 30th International Golden Boll Film Festival started with Orhan Kemal Labor Awards

At the opening ceremony of the 30th International Golden Boll Film Festival held in ADANA, Orhan Kemal Emek Awards were given to the famous singer Belkıs Özener and director Ahmet Soner.

The opening ceremony of the 30th International Golden Boll Film Festival was held at the Central Park Amphitheater. Adana Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeydan Karalar, famous names of the Turkish art community, representatives of political parties and non-governmental organizations and guests attended the opening ceremony. The ceremony was hosted by the famous play Yetkin Dikinciler. Adana Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeydan Karalar, who made the opening speech of the ceremony, said that last year they named the festival ‘Those Not Included in the Frame’, and this year they framed ‘labor, inequality and justice’. Mayor Karalar said, “Altın Koza has always supported those who labor, those who are not included in the frame, those who rule over inequality and injustice, and the artists who make innovative films. Cinema is such a thing that every country speaks different languages, but the language of cinema is universal. This year we celebrate its 100th anniversary.” Our Republic has raised very important people in art and science. This is what our Mustafa Kemal Atatürk also pointed out; enlightenment, science, science-based management. Altın Koza has a very different view of labor. Therefore, labor is very important. That is why this year’s labor awards are given to our cinema, “We will present it to Belkıs Özener and Ahmet Soner, the artists of the years who contributed a lot to our art,” he said.

OZENER: I WAS SILENT FOR 40 YEARS, I DID NOT SAY THAT VOICE WAS MINE

Famous artist Belkıs Özener, who came to the stage to receive her award, appeared before the art lovers with the song “I Couldn’t Love Karagözlüm”, which she sang for Türkan Şoray in the movie Kara Gözlüm. Referring to the film, Özener said, “I remained silent for 40 years, I did not say that this voice is mine. My name was not written. You knew my voice, but you did not know me. Now I am here before you, I love you very much.” Famous actress Binnur Kaya presented Özener with her award. Later, the famous director Ahmet Soner came to the stage to receive his award. President Karalar and Orhan Kemal’s son Işık Öğütçü gave Soner his award.

After the award ceremony, Candan Erçetin went on stage barefoot for the concert. Erçetin, who sang the unforgettable works of Yeşilçam films and her own popular songs, gave those who came to the ceremony an unforgettable night.
