A forest fire broke out in Antalya. The flames in Alanya district are being intervened by air and land.

A forest fire broke out around 12:00 in the Dim Dam area of ​​Alanya. Upon noticing the smoke, teams were quickly directed to the area. The teams reached the fire area and started extinguishing efforts from land and air.

INTENSIVE INTERVENTION FROM AIR AND LAND

The forest fire, which broke out around 12:00 in the Dim Dam area of ​​Alanya, spread. As the fire progressed towards the back of the Dim Dam, fire extinguishing helicopters as well as a large number of land teams were directed to the region.

While the teams intervened by land at the points where there was transportation, helicopters and planes intervened at the steep and unaccessible points with the water they took from the dam.

It was observed that the wind was also effective in some places in the region and there were sparsely distributed settlements. It was seen that the flames were rising again at some points where the teams took them under control. While 8 helicopters, 6 aircraft, 42 water tankers, 6 water tankers, 10 first response vehicles, 4 dozers and many land teams intervened in the fire extinguishing efforts, it was stated that the number of vehicles will increase with new participants.

STATEMENT FROM MINISTER YUMAKLI

Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı made a statement about the fire on his social media account. Yumaklı said, “10 planes, 11 helicopters, 54 water trucks, 4 work machines and 363 personnel were dispatched to the forest fire in Alanya, Antalya. Our air and land intervention continues uninterruptedly to control the fire.”
