Businessman Koray Vural, living in Tajikistan, was taken to Turkey

It was learned that businessman Koray Vural, who has been living in Tajikistan for many years, was kidnapped yesterday morning around 9.30 while getting out of his car in front of his restaurant Özyurt Restaurant in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan.

According to eyewitnesses, it is stated that Vural, who was kidnapped by 8 people, was delivered to Turkey this morning at 06:00 Turkey time with Somon Air SZ 103 plane flying from Dushanbe to Istanbul Airport.

Speaking to Kronos, Vural’s family relative said, “He is a well-known person in Tajikistan. Eight people took him away as they got out of their car. First we learned that he was in the Tajikistan Police Department, but his wife went everywhere and asked, but we couldn’t find him. They went to meet with Tajikistan authorities, but they did not accept. “We couldn’t find out where they kept it, but we only found out this morning that it would be returned.” said.

After graduating from Tajikistan University, Department of English Language Teaching, he completed his doctorate in this country. Vural, who worked as a teacher and principal in Turkish colleges in Tajikistan for a while, later went into business. Vural, who traded electrical transformers from Tajikistan to Kyrgyzstan, later started running Özyurt Restaurant.

AN EDUCATOR AND A BUSINESSMAN WERE KIDNAPPED IN TAJIKISTAN WITHIN TWO MONTHS

Teacher Emsal Koç, who had been living in Tajikistan for 29 years, was also kidnapped from in front of his home in Tajikistan on July 4, 2023 and taken to Turkey. According to the information obtained by Kronos, Koç, who was forced to ‘confess’, stated in his statement that Vural had been living in Tajikistan since he was a student, that he came to Tajikistan from Bursa, that his family was in Bursa, that he had been a principal in previously closed Turkish colleges and that he had been working since 2014. He said he has been running a restaurant ever since.

It was also stated that a lawsuit was filed against Koray, a father of three, at Bursa 10th High Criminal Court in 2017, within the scope of investigations against the Gülen community, and Koray’s name was included in the Orange List prepared by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which was decided to be canceled by the Council of State.

HE APPLIED TO THE UNITED NATIONS TO GO TO A SAFE COUNTRY.

Born in 1977, Koray Vural came to Dushanbe in 1994 for university education. After graduation, she worked as a teacher and administrator in different educational institutions. In 2016, she moved into the field of commerce and was representing different companies. Vural, whose Turkish passport expired in 2020 and was not extended, was residing in the country with the permission of the President of Tajikistan.

Koray Vural had applied to the United Nations to be resettled in one of the safe countries and was waiting for the process to be concluded in a short time.
