Ankara Metropolitan Municipality teams, which are on alert due to the downpours that are effective in Ankara, are working 24/7 against all negativities that may occur.

While the capital was recorded as the province with the highest precipitation in Turkey yesterday (May 25, 2023), 40 kilograms of precipitation per square meter per hour fell in some regions. ABB Disaster Coordination Center coordinates; ASKİ, Ankara Fire Department, Department of Science Affairs and Urban Aesthetics and Ankara Police Department immediately intervened in the notification points.

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş also informed the citizens of the Capital with his social media accounts.

INSTANT RESPONSE TO A Thousand 504 Notifications

Due to the heavy rain experienced throughout the city, the teams working 24/7 spent a lot of time by responding to 1,504 reports immediately.

Due to heavy rains, 1199 vehicles and 2332 personnel deployed at critical points relieved the grievances of citizens for water evacuation and cleaning after floods in avenues and streets, and many residences and workplaces.

In particular, the General Directorate of ASKİ, Fire Brigade, Science Affairs and Urban Aesthetics Departments responded to the negativities experienced in the Sincan-Etimesgut region in a coordinated manner. In the region where flooding occurred in low-level houses and workplaces, teams rescued 137 citizens from where they were trapped.

In Ankara, where 40 kilograms of precipitation per square meter per hour fell in some regions, the Metropolitan Municipality received a total of 1,504 notifications and intervened in 1,364 floods. Ankara Police also assigned 9 police vehicles, 18 police personnel, 7 tow trucks at 29 critical points, and rescued 2 vehicles with tow trucks in the Eryaman region.
