While the preparations for the summer season continue in Fethiye district of Muğla, one of Turkey’s favorite tourism centers, theoretical and practical training was given to 20 lifeguards.

Few days before the start of the tourism season in Fethiye, the preparations have reached the final stage. Within the framework of the preparations, 20 people attended the 3-day bronze (pool) and 5-day silver (sea) lifeguard training. Candidates who were successful in the exams held at the end of the training were entitled to receive a lifeguard certificate.

The training, given by Turkish Underwater Sports Federation (TSSF) Diving and Lifeguard Instructor Savaş Yapan and Assistant İbrahim Çakıcı, lasted for a total of 5 days, 3 days of theory, 1 day of pool and 1 day of sea practice. The participants of the 3-day bronze (pool) and 5-day silver (sea) lifeguard training were given theoretical and practical training on swimming techniques, the correct use of rescue equipment, and first aid interventions to take people out of the water and take them out of the pool and sea.

It has been reported that the new lifeguard training will be held again between 29 May and 2 June 2023.

Lifeguard certificates obtained at the end of the training within the framework of the ‘Turkish Underwater Sports Federation Lifesaving Regulation’ are valid in all businesses that are obliged to employ certified lifeguards. Documents have to be renewed after their 2-year validity period has expired.
