Two citizens who went missing while picking mushrooms in Tunceli’s Pülümür district were found. It was stated that the health conditions of the people who were taken from the area they were in by military helicopter were good.

The incident took place yesterday in Tunceli’s Pülümür district. Hüseyin Gündüz and Müslüm İpek, who went to the village of Balpayam-Ağaşenlik in the district to collect mushrooms, could not hear from their relatives and reported the situation to 112. Upon the notification, teams consisting of AFAD, gendarmerie commandos and volunteers were sent to the region. As a result of the efforts carried out with difficulty due to heavy rain at night and the missing persons’ phones not working, 2 missing persons were found. It was stated that the health conditions of the people who were taken from the region by military helicopter were good.

Tunceli Governor’s Office also made a statement on the subject. The governor’s statement noted:

“In the notification made to our 112 Emergency Call Center on May 25, 2023 in the evening, it was reported that there was no news from 2 of our citizens who went to the Pülümür Balpayam / Ağaşenlik region to collect mushrooms, and as a result of the notification, search and rescue work was started in the region. As a result of the search and rescue efforts carried out by our Gendarmerie commando teams, AFAD teams, AFAD volunteers, volunteer citizens and drones and helicopters, 2 missing citizens were reached safely.’
