Participating in the elections under the umbrella of the Nation alliance, CHP included members of its partner DEVA, Future, Felicity Party and Democrat Party within the scope of joint list studies. Three quotas were granted to the Democratic Party, 25 to DEVA, 24 to Saadet, and 19 to Future in the CHP lists.

In the elections, the DEVA Party won 15, the Future and Saadet parties 10 each, and the Democrat Party three. In other words, after the opening of the Parliament, 38 deputies will return to their parties from the CHP, from which they were elected.

It was wondered whether these parties, each of which did not have the 20 seats required to form a group separately, would come together to form a group in order to form a more effective opposition in the Assembly.

‘We can build our own’

Habertürk columnist Muharrem Sarıkaya stated that the DEVA Party talked about asking for five more deputies from the CHP in order to establish a group.

The relevant part of Sarikaya’s article is as follows: ”DEVA may request that it be gathered under its own roof, claiming that it has 15 representatives and five more than the others; As a matter of fact, the implications of DEVA executives in their conversations are in this direction.

Even in them ‘If the CHP gives us one last support and gives us five deputies, we will establish it ourselves’ They don’t hesitate to say the word.

It is impossible for the CHP to take even a single step in this direction; because the number of deputies remaining after those who entered themselves is low…

For this reason, the formation of a single group that they all focus on, the deputies decide together which party should be the roof, and the group managements should be shared within this understanding.

One of the formulas emphasized is that the co-chairpersons as well as the group vice-chairs are composed of participating parties.

‘Not possible’

While the sources informing Diken confirmed DEVA’s request, they stated that it was not possible for the CHP to accept it.
