Reminding that an event will be held on 4 June 2023 within the framework of the 8th International Edirne Marathon, Önder Akdağ, President of the Balkan Countries Friendship Group Youth and Sports Club Association (BUDDER), stated that they will celebrate in a different way this year due to the 100th Anniversary of the Republic.

Saying that they will unveil a giant Turkish flag of 455 square meters, special for the 100th anniversary of the Republic, in the 8th International Edirne Marathon, Akdağ made statements about the marathon at the press conference he held in Selimiye Square.
“Last 2 days for registration!”
Emphasizing that the jerseys and medals were prepared in line with this theme, Akdağ said, “We are in the last 2 days of registration. We will organize it for our country and our nation with around 1000 mass organizations. As we share our materials on social media, we receive positive feedback from the athletes. This year, unlike other years, the event is the 100th anniversary of our Republic. We are opening the biggest Turkish Flag of Turkey for 2 days in our field. A Turkish Flag of 455 square meters will be opened in the event area by means of cranes. It will add air to the enthusiasm of the 100th Anniversary. Around 1000 athletes are running. Nearly 150 foreign athletes participate. Live from TRT Spor We are carrying out the measurement and final registration of the track,” he said.
“We made minor changes, but the track has become more beautiful”
Rıdvan Doğan, President of the Istanbul Masters Athletics Club, who measured the track, stated that the track, with minor changes, has become so that the athletes can perform better tempo.
Stating that they have finished the course measurement and put the final touches on, Doğan said, “We will send the booklet we will prepare for the certificate to France. The certificate will be sent until the competition. There will be no problem for the athletes to achieve a degree.”
