A fire broke out on the ground floor of a seven-storey hotel in Pendik, Istanbul. The dead bodies of two people were found in the fire, which was extinguished with the intervention of the firefighters, which lasted for about an hour.

For unknown reasons, a fire broke out at the entrance of the seven-storey hotel on Erol Kaya Street in Pendik Doğu Mahallesi, at around 07:30. While the flames engulfed the entire hotel in a short time, many firefighters, health and police teams were sent to the scene with the notification of the people around. Firefighters who came to the scene responded to the fire with a ladder vehicle. The dead bodies of two people were found in the fire, which was extinguished after about an hour of work. Crews continue to work at the scene.

Statement from Pendik District Governor’s Office

In the statement made by the Pendik District Governorate about the fire, it was said:

“Today, around 08:00, a fire notice was received on the 5th floor of a seven-storey hotel in Erol Kaya Street in the Doğu District of our district.

Firefighters, security and health teams were immediately sent to the scene and the fire was extinguished.

Two of our citizens lost their lives in the fire, and three of our citizens were transferred to the hospital. An investigation has been initiated on the subject. We wish God’s mercy on our deceased citizens and express our condolences to their relatives.”
