Health Minister Fahrettin Koca announced that mains water has been started to be supplied to Şanlıurfa and that it should not be used as drinking water until a new announcement.
“SHOULD NOT BE USED AS DRINKING WATER”
In a statement on his Twitter account, Minister Koca said, “Mains water supply to Şanlıurfa has started. Even though it reaches homes through treatment plants, mains water is suitable for use only for general purposes for a while. Mains water should not be used as drinking water until a new announcement.” said.
“WE STARTED TO PROVIDE 12 MILLION CUBE WATER PER HOUR”
On the other hand, Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeynel Abidin Beyazgül announced that they have started to supply mains water to the city again. Beyazgül said: “We saw that all of our pumps were working. We started to deliver 12 million cubic meters of water per hour to our city. Water flow was provided to the networks from the treatment plant of the city. Water started to flow to the lower elevations, and it was planned to reach all of the upper elevations towards the evening.
“THIS IS USAGE AND HYGIENE WATER”
The water we give from the mains is not drinking water. This is use and hygiene water. They have to wait for information from us about drinking water. We took our precautions when our friends reported that the water was muddy. First, we supplied water with tankers, these are domestic water. Two, we gave water in plastic bottles, which was drinking water. Our water and pet water work with tankers will continue today. Why will it continue with the tankers? We are directing our tankers there because the high elevations still do not have water.
