Asphalt bump works were carried out on Mardin Yolu Street, one of the most prestigious and busy streets of Nusaybin.
As per the decision taken at the Mardin Metropolitan Municipality UKOME meeting upon the request of the Nusaybin Municipality, asphalt paving works are carried out in cooperation with the Mardin Metropolitan Municipality and Nusaybin Municipality.
It was stated that bumps will be placed on the road at intervals during the studies for healthier and safer transportation.
Providing information about the works carried out, District Governor and Deputy Mayor Ercan Kayabaşı stated that they are carrying out such a study to slow down the speed of the drivers and to make the pedestrians use the road more healthily.
Reminding the traffic accident that occurred earlier on Mardin Yolu Street and in which teachers Suzan Basın and Büşra Yıldız lost their lives, District Governor and Deputy Mayor Kayabaşı said, “As the District Governorship and Municipality, we evaluate all kinds of requests of our citizens. We make traffic applications in the region from time to time. However, as a result of the work of the Mardin Metropolitan Municipality and the Directorate of Science Affairs and at the request of our citizens, we decided to make an asphalt bump on Mardin Yolu Street. As of today, this work has started. As a result of the evaluations of our teams, in the areas and school areas where pedestrians use the road heavily We’re going to make a coincidence,” he said.
