The judicial investigation continues regarding the effect of drinking water on 148 people in Yuva village of Bolu center in July.
According to the information received from the Bolu Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, a public prosecutor was appointed specifically for the incident.
In the investigation carried out under the coordination of the public prosecutor, the results of the samples taken by the teams of the Provincial Health Directorate from the water source of the village and the water used in the houses were added to the investigation file.
It was determined that some bacteria and similar elements, which were not seen in the samples taken from the water source, were found in other points of the network.
Upon the allegations that the vehicles carrying materials to various factories and businesses around the village were washed in a facility in the region and that the chemical or biological substances that emerged here were mixed with the drinking water from the broken water pipes under the ground, various samples were excavated in the region.
In addition, a committee consisting of microbiology and public health experts and engineers will be formed by the Attorney General’s Office to examine the village. The delegation will conduct more detailed investigations in various areas of the village, especially the utility waters and the water source.
Evaluating the allegations regarding the negligence of the village headman, the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office obtained an investigation permission from the Governor’s Office.
On the other hand, while the statements of 147 people who applied to hospitals continue to be taken, hospital reports are added to the investigation file.
The autopsy report of 49-year-old Eyüp Ertem, who passed away on July 23 at the hospital where he was treated in Ankara, is awaited in order to complete the investigation into citizens being affected by drinking water.
In Yuva village, 148 people, including children, applied to hospitals with complaints of vomiting and nausea caused by drinking water in July, and 142 were discharged after their treatment.
