A rock rolled on the mountaineers climbing to the summit of Erciyes

Three mountaineers, who were climbing the Erciyes Mountain in Kayseri, were injured as a result of falling rocks on their way back. One of the climbers taken to the hospital died.

Uğur Bayükke, together with his two mountaineer friends İ.K. and KG, climbed to the summit of Erciyes Mountain in the incident that took place in the Erciyes Mountain Devil’s Hill location around 13.30.

Rocks fell on the climbers

3 mountaineers, who completed the summit climb, fell on them while they were trying to descend on the way back. Upon the notification of the injured mountaineers, AFAD, JAK, health and fire crews were directed to the region.

The teams reached the mountaineers in 4.5 hours.

The teams started working in difficult natural conditions to reach 3 mountaineers. The teams reached the injured mountaineers after 4.5 hours of climbing.
The injured 3 climbers, who landed safely, were taken to the Erciyes University Medical Faculty Hospital by helicopter arriving in the region.

One of the climbers being treated died.

According to the news of DHA, Uğur Bayükke, one of the climbers under treatment, died despite the efforts of the doctors. It was learned that the other 2 mountaineers were in good health.
