The 2023 Miss Universe Contest (Miss Universe 2023) was held the previous evening. 84 beauty queens from around the world competed in the competition held in San Salvador, the capital of El Salvador.

Miss Nicaragua Sheynnis Palacios became Miss Universe 2023 by winning the 2023 Miss Universe Contest.
HE COULD NOT HOLD HIS TEARS
Palacios, who was selected as Miss Universe, was crowned by the previous year’s winner, R’Bonney Gabriel from the USA. Sheynnis Palacios, who received the crown, broke down in tears.
Palacios, who previously won the title of Miss Nicaragua 2023, became the first person to win this award in Nicaragua’s history.
Thailand’s Antonia Porsild came second in the Miss Universe Contest. Australian Moraya Wilson also came third in the competition.
In the jury of this year’s Miss Universe, where the winners of national beauty contests from 84 countries competed; Model Halima Aden, “Queer Eye” star Carson Kressley, TikTok phenomenon Avani Gregg and two former Miss Universe winners Janelle Commissiong from Trinidad & Tobago and Iris Mittenaere from France.
CHANGES WERE MADE IN THE COMPETITION
On the other hand, comprehensive changes were made in the selection process of the candidates in the Miss Universe competition in 2023 after 72 years. For the first time, married women and mothers were also allowed to participate in the competition.
In the statement made by the competition committee, it was said: “We all believe that women should have a say in their own lives and that a person’s past personal decisions should not hinder their success in different fields.”
