The cost of corona to Germany is 85 billion Euros

In 2022, expenditures increased by 4.8 percent compared to 2021, that is, by another 22.6 billion Euros, reaching 497.7 billion Euros. According to DW Turkish, this figure means that health expenditures per capita increased to 5 thousand 939 Euros. The ratio of health expenditures to Gross Domestic Product (GDP) was 12.8 percent. Federal Statistical Office data reveal that while the share of epidemic-related items in health expenditures was 18.2 billion Euros in 2020 and 30.6 billion Euros in 2021, this amount increased to 36.1 billion Euros in 2022. This corresponds to 84.9 billion Euros in total.

MOST MONEY WAS PAID FOR TESTS
In 2022, the largest share in expenditures was taken by corona tests, with a rate of 40.1 percent. 14.5 billion Euros were spent on free tests in centers opened in accordance with the testing regulation or on tests in health facilities such as hospitals, nursing homes and examinations. Vaccines took the second place in health expenditures. 9.4 billion Euros were spent in 2022 on vaccination centers opened and vaccine doses administered within the framework of the vaccination campaign launched in December 2020. Vaccination expenses constituted 26 percent of total expenses related to the coronavirus outbreak.
