With the arrival of spring in most parts of our country, temperatures began to increase.

However, this temperature increase may negatively affect asthma patients, especially in areas where southwest winds are effective.

Chest Diseases Specialist Dr. Hacer Ofluoğlu warns about this issue.

The effect of the weather on human health changes during periods when the southwest wind is effective.

Increasing air temperature and decreasing humidity may affect asthma patients more.

Especially seasonal factors play an important role in the occurrence of asthma.

Sudden asthma attacks are more common in the spring months, and this can have critical consequences, especially for asthma patients.

Specialist Dr. Hacer Ofluoğlu explained the difficulties experienced by patients as follows:

Shortness of breath: Asthma, which occurs as a result of narrowing of the trachea, causes shortness of breath in attacks.

Dry Cough Attacks: Dry cough attacks may occur during asthma attacks.

Whistling Sound: A whistling sound may be heard during breathing.

Feeling of Tightness in the Chest: A feeling of tightness in the chest may occur during asthma attacks.

When asthma does not have an attack, there are no symptoms. Chest radiography and respiratory function test results are used to diagnose asthma, especially due to allergic reactions.

Allergy tests may also be performed if your doctor deems necessary.

HIGH TEMPERATURES CAN TRIGGER ASTHMA ATTACKS

Asthma is a lifelong, non-communicable chronic respiratory disease that is common worldwide.

This disease, which is characterized by airway narrowing that makes breathing difficult, manifests itself in the form of sudden attacks.

Scientific studies estimate that asthma could affect 400 million people worldwide by 2025. Hot weather and high humidity can increase the frequency of asthma attacks.

It is important to avoid triggers to control asthma.
