According to Ministry of Health sources, when carotid artery occlusion disease is suspected and diagnosed, MR angiography or CT angiography and classical ‘conventional’ carotid angiography are performed free of charge in public hospitals. Authorities stated that the examination was performed with a drug that colors the veins and that the drug was administered intravenously and the imaging was performed in 5 minutes.
