RESPONSIBLE FOR 85-90 PERCENT OF THE DISEASE
The most important cause of lung cancer is long-term exposure to tobacco and tobacco smoke. However, factors such as genetic factors, exposure to radon gas, asbestos and air pollution are also held responsible for the formation of this disease. Smoking is responsible for 85-90 percent of the disease. The risk of developing cancer is related to the age at which tobacco started, the amount of cigarettes smoked, and the duration of smoking.
