EZGİ MOLA HAS BEEN PENALIZED
Musa Orhan’s lawyer, Mehmet Erkan Akkuş, filed a criminal complaint with the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office regarding the sharing of Ezgi Mola. After the investigation, a lawsuit was filed against Mola for ‘insulting with a voice, written or video message’ and a prison sentence of up to 2 years and 4 months.
Ezgi Mola, who made her defense at the hearing of the case at the Ankara 31st Criminal Court of First Instance, said that she did not know Musa Orhan and tweeted after the comments she read on social media accounts and internet news sites, and said, “I used these expressions for violence against women. When I saw the forensic report confirming the late İpek Er’s claim in the news, I, like other social media users, of course, experienced the sadness of this situation and shared my sadness on my social media account. I have had posts against violence against violence before, and it will continue to do so in the future. Because I think violence against women is a bleeding wound in our country. When I read the news of the mainstream media on the subject, I got very angry and I tweeted the aforementioned tweet to end it now. I don’t personalize my comment here. “I did it to the situation. I demand my acquittal,” he said.
With the decision announced on May 24, 2022, the court board sentenced Ezgi Mola to a judicial fine of 6 thousand 960 TL for 87 days, on the grounds that she committed the crime of ‘insult’.
