Fairs, where the automotive world introduced its innovations and met with consumers, are looking back to their old days. Many brands no longer attend auto shows. Europe’s largest fairs, Paris, Frankfurt and Geneva, seem far from excitement today.
While fairs in Europe do not attract the same attention as before, the star of fairs is rising in the east. For example, fairs held in China, the world’s largest automotive market, attract greater attention than before. Beijing Auto Show, which opened its doors for media members on April 25, was flooded with automotive brands.
European, Japanese and Korean brands, especially Chinese brands, exhibited their new models at the fair. The fair can be visited until May 4.

BODY SHOW
This year’s fair, whose theme was “New era new automobile”, hosted 117 global premieres, 30 of which were from multinational companies. 41 concept cars were exhibited.
By the way, there were almost no internal combustion cars at the fair. 278 of the new cars exhibited were electric and hybrid models. Compared to the Shanghai Auto Show held in 2023, the number of electric and hybrid models was more.

RECHARGEABLE HYBRIDS ARE ON SHOWCASE
Chinese automotive brand JAECOO introduced its new energy product range at the Beijing International Auto Show. At the fair, JAECOO’s new rechargeable hybrid models JAECOO 7 PHEV and JAECOO 8 PHEV were showcased worldwide. Chery Group’s premium brand JAECOO will first be offered for sale in Turkey in June with its rechargeable hybrid model JAECOO 7 PHEV.

NEW MODEL FROM THE TECHNOLOGY GIANT
Chinese technology giant Xiaomi introduced its new model SU 7 at the fair. Encountering demand beyond expectations, Xiaomi SU 7 received nearly 100 thousand pre-orders. The vehicle, whose price is estimated to start from 30 thousand dollars, produces 295 hp power and 400 Nm torque. It has a range of up to 830 km. Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun said that car owners such as BMW and Audi showed interest in the SU7 model.

THE ICONIC MODEL HAS BEEN ELECTRIFIED
Mercedes-Benz held the world launch of the electric EG series in Beijing. Producing 580 hp of power and 1164 Nm of torque, the electric model has a range of 473 km. The iconic model also has the ability to turn around itself.
