Inflation has been deeply affecting basic foodstuffs lately. There are significant increases in the prices of oil types, especially sunflower oil, corn oil and olive oil. The rapid increase in oil prices attracts the attention of citizens and they are curious about current price information.
In the first quarter of 2024, 1 liter of oil was 42.50 TL, 2 liters of oil was 76 TL and 5 liters of oil was 179.50 TL; 5 liters of olive oil was in the range of 430-450 TL. However, prices increased rapidly in the second quarter of the year.
Due to the effect of inflation, sunflower oil prices reached record levels. While 500 ml of sunflower oil of the Vatan brand was sold for 32.50 TL, 1 liter of sunflower oil of the same brand increased to 62.50 TL. While 1 liter of sunflower oil of the Biryağ brand is 69.50 TL, 5 liters of sunflower oil increased to 229 TL.
While 1 liter of sunflower oil of the Yudum brand was sold for 84.50 TL, 5 liters of sunflower oil of the same brand increased to 289 TL. 5 liters of sunflower oil of the Oba brand increased to 205 TL. These increases show the recent rise in oil prices.
A similar increase is observed in corn oil prices. While 5 liters of corn oil of the Zade brand reached 499 TL, 5 liters of corn oil of the Komili brand climbed to 600 TL. 1 liter of corn oil of the Olin brand is sold for 117.50 TL.
The increase in olive oil prices is at a record level. While 1 liter of extra virgin olive oil of the Zeo brand was sold for 259 TL, 1 liter of extra virgin olive oil of the Yudum brand was sold for 339 TL. 5 liters of Riviera olive oil of the Komili brand displays the highest prices on the shelves with 1,499 TL. Due to the effect of inflation, oil prices have climbed to record levels for various oil types, especially sunflower oil, corn oil and olive oil. Citizens need to make careful budget planning to cope with these rising prices.
