Payment of 833 billion 420 million lira in 2023

According to the news in Sözcü, the Central Bank announced a 2023 period loss of 818.2 billion on April 15, but KKM did not provide information about the loss.

The spokesman accessed the Central Bank 2023 Activity Report, which also included the KKM loss.

In the report, the information that 833 billion 420 million liras were paid to KKM account holders in 2023 was included as a ‘footnote’ under the profit/loss table on page 92.

This data revealed that the loss due to KKM was greater than the Central Bank’s period loss, and that the Central Bank went from profit to loss due to the KKM application. In the report, it was informed that the payment made to KKM account holders in 2022 was 72 billion 843 million lira.

For KKM, 92.5 billion were paid from the budget in 2022 and 59.5 billion in 2023. Thus, the 2-year KKM burden exceeded 1 trillion 58 billion.
