ANTALYA – Antalya Book Fair, which will be held for the 13th time this year, will bring book lovers together with 263 authors between 24 November and 3 December.
Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Muhittin Böcek stated at the press conference he held at a hotel in the city center that the fair will host important writers at the Glass Pyramid Congress Center.
Stating that they held the first fair in 2010 during his term as Konyaaltı Mayor to prevent the sale of pirated books, Böcek said, “We are holding our 13th book fair on the 100th anniversary of our Republic with the slogan ‘We are writing the second century of our Republic together.’ This year, again, November 24 is Teachers’ Day.” “With our fair that we will open in , we wanted to honor our teachers who work hard to raise future generations in line with the revolution and principles of our Head Teacher Atatürk. We attribute the fair to them. This year, we will host 263 of our authors and 204 national and international publishing houses. Our author Ahmet Ümit will be the guest of honor.” he said.
At the fair, CHP Group Deputy Chairman Ali Mahir Basarir, Ayşe Kulin, Barış Doster, Barış Terkoğlu, Feyza Altun, Pof. Dr. Stating that names such as Celal Şengör, Cihat Yaycı, Ezo Sunal, İlker Başbuğ, İrfan Değirmenci, Yılmaz Özdil, İsmail Küçükkaya, Serhat Dış, Nurullah Genç, İnci Aral, Zeynep Oral and Müfit Can Saçıntı will take part, Böcek said that he will also be together with the readers with his two books. He said he would meet.
Mayor Böcek invited all Antalya residents to the fair.

Answering journalists’ questions about his candidacy for Metropolitan Municipality Mayor after his speech, Böcek said:
“Our silence is due to our nobility. From time to time, when the election process approaches, there may be friends who do not want to work and who want to run for candidacy. I do not see these very often. I will make a clear statement about candidacy in the coming days. I hope that the friends who are and will be candidates do their job honestly. I have been 5 candidates in Antalya so far. “I have always been blessed throughout the year. I have never embarrassed the people who loved and elected me. The election frenzy may come and go, there may be political parties and changes, but we are in our place. I will share whatever is necessary in the coming days.”
When asked whether the canceled 60th Golden Orange Film Festival will be held, Böcek said, “I will still hold the Golden Orange Film Festival, despite everything. I will tell the dates of all of them. Those who did not contribute to the Golden Orange, brought only the international ones, and painted our statuettes black, “Also, as someone who brought it to this day from a place where there were no short films, no feature documentaries, no cinema school, we will do the 60th Golden Orange in Antalya, as Muhittin Böcek and his team, despite all the obstacles.” he replied.
