BİTLİS (AA) – Students and academics who participated in the “Those Who Made Their Mark on History, Haluk Dursun” commemoration program held in Ahlat district of Bitlis visited historical places.

Within the scope of the “Those Who Made Their Mark on History, Haluk Dursun” commemoration program organized by the Anatolian Culture and History Union Association with the contributions of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, students and academics in the district were first taken to Ahlat Museum.

Museum Director Mikail Ercek gave information to the participants about the history of the district and the works in the museum.

Then, the participants went to Ahlat Seljuk Square Cemetery, examined the monumental tombstones and visited the Emir Bayındır Tomb.

Ahmet Alp Arslanoğlu, Vice President of the Anatolian History and Culture Union Association, Prof. Dr. He said that they were in the district within the scope of the commemoration program they organized for Ahmet Haluk Dursun.

Stating that they came together with more than 300 young people in Bitlis, Arslanoğlu said, “Then we continued our cultural trips. We visited the important points of the region. Finally, we concluded our trip by visiting the historical Seljuk Square Cemetery in Ahlat.” said.

Çankaya University student İlayda Uçar stated that she was very impressed by the historical sites and said, “We commemorated our teacher Haluk with a beautiful program. Our valuable teachers shared information with us here. Now we are visiting Bitlis and Ahlat. We saw what was said on site. We saw the tombstones and we are returning with very good feelings.” “It had an incredible feeling.” he said.

Ahlat District Governor Batuhan Bingöl, Ahlat Mayor Yavuz Gülmez, AK Party Ankara Deputy Zeynep Yıldız, MHP Chairman Chief Advisor Prof. Dr. Ruhi Ersoy, academicians and students attended.
